Just follow the suggestions offered for the problem of a steady amber light. I would also suggest that you check the diagnostic lights to see if they are indicating an error code which could further help pin point the problem. The link I directed you to will also explain the diagnostic light error codes.
I have the same problem. If you follow the step by step troubleshooting guide, you'll probably find that it is the motherboard. I ordered a new one for fifty bucks. I'll let you know what happens.
