Computer freezes when started

My 4 month old Dimension 700 has developed a problem when turned on. The computer freezes on the "Blue Dell Logo" and will not boot up. When I do a contro/alt/delete, it reboots and does not freeze and continues loading Windows. Have not yet heard from technical support. Can anyone help.

Just a few thoughts....do you run scandisk and defrag regularly? Have you added any new software or hardware? Have you run a virus check recently, and has the virus program been brought up to date?

Yes, I defragged, ran a scan disk, and constantly update my virus scan but computer freezes when started. Tech folks just e-mailed and said try to disconnect the printer.
No Events found!
