computer Locked msg..........

Along with the slow boot problem I posted on earlier I also wanted to include this issue.....if the computer sits idle for  a couple of minutes ...when I try to use it again I get this msg. stating that the computer is locked and that only I or an administrator can unlock it....and then has a blinking cursor for me to enter a password......if I just hit enter the msg. dissappears and I am able to work again....but this is getting rather annoying........I have no idea why this started to appear........any help is greatly appreciated....thanx Rich

Hi Mary......thanx for your response.....I have run all those applications to no avail.....it has made absolutely no difference in boot up speed and no errors were found....as far as the computer locked msg... I clicked on your link but found no info on how to disable this....can you tell me what the other board was that addressed this problem.....thanx again...Rich

This was just answered on another board. You must have inadvertently pressed Windows key + L and locked the computer. http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=70

Re your other question--run Disk Cleanup, Checkdisk or scandisk, and Defrag.

stombujotz,

Locking the computer is not something you disable. Rather it is something you simply don't enable. The other post referencing this problem is here.
