computer shuts off

Hi,
When I pull out a USB port wire the computer shuts off and reboots. Any ideas what causes this. I have a Dell Dimension XPS T500 with windows XP home.

If this is happening with only one or two devices, you should make sure you've got the latest drivers for the device(s). Joysticks seem to be especially good at crashing systems.

If it's every USB device, you should see if there is a BIOS update for your system or contact Dell tech support.
