Have you ran the diags on the hardware to see if anything is going or gone bad? If not, you may want to try that first to see if anything comes back bad.
About 100 Times It use to be 65.5 GB then I wiped everything off my computer practically to speed it up but it got a little faster didnt make much diffrence for long. Then it was back to its old self. Also I have noticed something pop-up onto my screen called Window or Word Taskmaster I shut it down and the computer seemed to regain its speed but not for long and it was back down in the dumps again.
Hey I have been getting alot of info about spyware the program is still running it diagnostic but ! Does Anyone Think This Problem Could be Because of Spyware ???
It is possible that spy-ware could cause a slow-down..but probably not a very significant one (depending on how powerful your PC is and how much Spyware is on it). Either way, it wouldn't hurt to go grab the latest version of Ad-Aware or something like it and scan for spy-ware. I know some spy-ware runs hidden services that could possibly be using resources in some way and contributing to the slow-down...
The point is: ..If you have installed lots of different programs (downloaded from the internet, mainly) and never checked for Spy-Ware, it would be a good thing to do :)
Yeah I'm heading off to do it know . I mean it when I say I have downloaded millions of things onto this computer and its a year old now and over warranty I'm betting ( HOPEING ) thats the problem !
Dangit !!!! It didnt work . It seemed to be kinda working then well it didnt even though it found TONS of spyware and I fixed it , it still dosent even make a diffrence.
This is Were I'm At
Diagnostics Came Out With 3 Error But the Errors Were for a Drive B which I dont have
I cleaned Spyware out and didnt work !
Any Ideas ( Dell . Dell Coustoumers ) what I should do ?
Kerry R,
This may seem like an obvious question but you didn't mention having done it so I'll ask. Have you run a virus scan with an up-to-date antivirus application? If a spyware remover found a ton of the stuff on your hard drive then I'd hazard a guess you've been using a file sharing application. A number of virii are known to spread through the networks such programs operate on.

I had a similar problem with my 4550 and WinXP. My fixed turned out to be a registry problem with the Disk Cleanup utility. See the Microsoft link below....
Hey Guys , Sorry About that , I have had some things I have been taken care off the last 2 days that had to be done. It seems we have another guy with my problem ! I'm going to read his for answers then scan my system with a virus scanner . I would like to stay away from editing and deleteing regiristys untill I have to ! I have norton on my system but it might of missed it so I'm heading to the internet to do a scan !
The Virus Scan Came up With no results of trojans or virus. This is the Update
Removed Spyware , Cleaned Computer Out
Scanned Comp for Virus
Diagnostic Came out Fine
Done Everything We have Thought Of So Far Except Regristry Changes , If the regristy was a problem would it hurt to remove that registry like he said up above.
Whatever we are doing its getting little by little faster !

Kerry R,
The diags are locted on the Dell Resource cd. Insert the cd in the cdrom and navigate to the dell diags to run them on the hardware.
