You can connect your video card to your tv using a DVI cable and a DVI->HDMI adapter, they are inexpensive. However, it won't transmist your sound that way. You will need to run audio out of your sound card separately.
You will need to make sure that your TV supports PC hook up. Not all TV will show the correct Resolution. The best thing to do is (If you haven't already bought the TV) to look for DVI-D hookups on the TV. This way you will get the true resolution and things will look in prospective. The XPS 420 is a good comp. But like all the other Dell systems it has it's problems.
Thanks alot for that information, though it was bad news. One of the bigger reasons I'm searching for a new computer is because I would like to be able to just have one cable to the tv and just watch a movie from time to time. Maybe it is worth getting a 5.1 or 7.1 ssound system and use that directly from the comp. However, that seem like a bit expensive to me, concidering how much i think I'm going to use it. I'll have to think more...
I don't believe there is although I've been wishing for this as well.
Video Card manufacturers need to start producing cards with HDMI out (instead of DVI) and some sort of passthrough or something that integrates audio output from the audio card/onboard audio with the HDMI output.
That would be sweet.
BTW this forum blocks words such as he|| and fr|gg|n. Like double-yew-tee-eff mate?
