Save your money for a new computer. You cannot upgrade to dual core. Return the memory. It is wrong for your motherboard. Check the specs online at Dell support.

No Dual core anything, Single core, Socket 478 P4 only.

Good places to look for the obsolete Socket 478 processors, are either HERE, or browse eBay.
