Create hdr file

Trying to create hdr file from gx240a05.exe to use with ITA.

Where does it write the .hdr?

Do this from XPSP1 command prompt or does it need to be pure DOS?

Using syntax: c:\bios\gx240a05.exe -writehdrfile

FlashBIOS.exe -? WOULD BE VERY HELPFULL

Thanks in advance,
Mike

so there are two ways to get it to work.  do it in a pure DOS enviroment or if you want to run it in XP, then you have to increase the available memory to the DOS shell.

1. Run Windows Explorer and go to the Win2k/NT/XP install directory (most likely, c:\winnt)
2. Right click on the file "_default.pif", and then select "Properties"
3. Select the "Memory" tab
4. Change the "Extended (XMS) memory" from AUTO to 3072. Click OK and exit.
5. You will need to open a new DOS command prompt for the changes to take in effect.
6. Run "gx240a05.exe -writehdrfile" to create the header file
7. You can go back to _default.pif and change the XMS setting back to AUTO

I think booting to a floppy is easier.
