if this file is of a format other than .WAV, (eg. MP3) then you would need to convert it WAV first before burning it onto a CD... for this purpose, you would need additional software...
Most CD audio burning programs will convert from MP3 to CDA fromat "on the fly" as the CD is being burned. Just check the help file of your CD burning program
