DataSafe Local Backup update loop

A popup notified me of an available update for DataSafe Local Backup, so I clicked on Update.  I got this error:

DSUpdate
A sharing violation occurred while accessing C:\Program Files (x86)\Dell DataSafe Local Backup\Components\DSUpdate\Updates\DataSafe_9_4_51_9_4_60_x64_Update.exe.

Despite that, it automatically went ahead and updated anyway, eventually rebooting my PC and creating a restore point.  Shortly thereafter, another DLB "update available" dialog popped up and invited me to update.  I appear to be in a loop.  Any solutions?

This is a software issue, not a desktop hardware issue, this forum section.  Best to repost on the Software forum.  Include your PC model Number and OS when you post (required on any initial problem post - too many different Dell systems).

OK.  I first looked there, but ruled it out because it’s neither Linux, Microsoft, nor productivity software, the three subforums there.  This seemed the next best choice since it’s a Dell product.

Datasafe would be considered a "productivity" issue.  e.g. any software other than the Operating System.
