Defrag wont run.

It's windows, have you restarted the PC lately.

 

Run a chkdsk on that drive.

 

For Windows 2000/XP, double-click on the icon "My Computer". Right-click on the drive icon representing the hard disk or partition you want to check. Select Properties from the flyout menu. Click the Tools tab at the top, hit "check now", tick the "Auto fix file system errors" box and hit start, you will be told it cannot run, hit yes and restart the PC. When the PC reboots it will pause before loading windows to run chkdsk, let it run without interruption, when it is done it will continue into windows.

 

Now try defrag again.

Thanks for the reply, I ran that test proir to my post. I went to safe mode also and It did'nt work there either. Any other ideas? Thanks again.
