Forbuto.

The PSU installed in the D/8100 is also proprietary, and does not the standard ATX design motherboard connectors.

The front panel connector is proprietary and has been a pain for anyone who has tried to figure it out.

The ATX PSU will fit into the case, regarding the motherboard, check the present board's physical measurements against a new board, you may have to "adapt" the case's rear panel and reposition the standoff holes to suit a ATX board, but, then you will have connect the case's front panel,  power on/off switch and LED to the new board.

Personally, I would purchase a standard ATX case and transfer all the usable parts into it.
There has been a lot of posts regards to installing a ATX motherboard into a Dell case, try using the "Search Forum Box" at this page's top right corner.

I would agree with bev,,,,,,on the new case route. You can get a case and P4 power supply so cheap now,,,,, example $30-40

Dell Dimension 4100 (incase mb upgrade) Intel(R) 2.4(oc 2.8) specs

I'll 3rd Bev. Save yourself the headaches and trouble and just get a new case. You'll be able to pick one that provides more cooling (additional blowholes for fans).
