Oops, my bad -- the Inspiron 620 does not have a proprietary connector.

You're fine. Still, it's cheaper to use plastic cable ties to bundle up your case wiring.

I take my words back - there is proprietary connector for the front panel, multi pin one.

Number 7 is front panel connector according to Inspiron 620 Service manual, unfortunately in pdf format, look at page 43 at diagram, when I get home I will try to make JPG from pdf.

P.S. this is the list of all manuals - this is for me when I get home.

I believe it has a proprietary front panel connector, so no.

It is possible to neaten the cabling, using cable ties, and that's the solution I'd recommend.

But another motherboard will require different operating system, Dell supplies OEM version only. Another 100 USD.

It is possible, but you would have to deal with front panel error message - you would have to press F1 on each boot. However, if you changed PSU because you getting video card, with bigger case you can have bigger card! And so much more! There are many possibilities, if you are interested state you budget for the case, and if you are looking to upgrade your 620 even more, let us know.

You're better off moving the parts to another motherboard.

$40 for Windows 8 if the OP moves now, and there would be no limit on outdated CPUs like the Pentium D or the E6300.

It means a front panel connector unique to Dell that will not mate to standard case cabling. You would have to fashion your own connector.

You're better off using a third-party motherboard like the Foxconn I linked to.  However, it's possible to use cable ties to bundle the power supply cabling neatly, as I did with my XPS-7100 homebuilt (Asus mainboard, Seasonic power supply). It should be easy, unlike what I found necessary to install a Foxconn mini-ITX mainboard into an HP Slimline case.
