Dell Creative Diagnostics Agent

I've been having a terrible time with the Dell Techs on this problem with the Icon in the "notification" bar being useless.  When I click on it, the Dell window comes up but the right side is missing and there are no buttons (Next) to activate it.  When I click on the "Diagnose" button at the top, nothing happens.
I've run the Sound Blaster Live! CD that Dell furnished with the computer and done a bunch of troubleshooting as directed by the Techs but there has been zero improvement.
Anyone have any better luck with this issue?

Yes, I can remove the icon by clicking Exit...but it returns after a while.

I discovered yesterday how to fix this thing.  I went to the Startup tab in MSCONFIG and unchecked 'diagent'.  Then clicked OK in the window that appeared after returning to the Desktop telling me that I wasn't running 'Normal' startup.  Then I clicked on the Agent  in All Programs, Creative, Sound Blaster, and a smaller window opened with the operating buttons in it.  I haven't utilized the Program but at least the buttons are intact and I presume operable....and that blasted icon has not returned!

The Program itself is still flawed, though.  If I click on 'Creative Diagnostics' in the dropdown window, instead of the 'Agent' line, that same, original larger window pops up and it's just like it's always been...right side missing and no buttons.  The DellTechs told me that their Research and Development department was working on it and would surely resolve the problem shortly.  I responded that the Program had been defective for 5 years that I know of and I wouldn't hold out much hope of Dell ever fixing it.

Can you remove the icon by right-clicking upon the icon and then selecting EXIT?

See if your screen Display properties makes a difference. I recall that changing (reducing) from Large fonts to Small Fonts affects the Creative dialog screen.

There's more to that than just the 600x800. You need to go into the Advanced Settings and then alter the Display|Font size from large to small, or "normal".

I believe this is the insight.

I saw that post about changing the size...something like 800X600, I don't remember, but I did try it and it didn't work.

I've read everything on the 'insight' link you provided and was hoping something would work but it didn't.  I'd really rather not mess with the font size due to the results I had earlier (not good!).  I'm pleased with the results I had from my earlier post.

BTW, I received a phone call from the 'Dell Techs' about an hour ago, wanting to know if they could consider the issue closed.  I told them they sure could, no thanks to them, and I mentioned it would be nice if Dell could correct the problem on their end...as it should be.  They just don't seem to understand that this is not a problem with one or two computers but is a problem with the CD and Program itself.
