Righty ho, I got a Dimension 8400 with a Radeon X300SE, 512mb DDR2 memory P4 3.0Ghz etc.

I have replaced the CDrom with a Liteon DVD SOHD-16P9S and also a Pioneer 109 DVDRW

1st problem is that when i put a DVD Video disc in the Liteon the system just freezes and the only way to shut down is power switch on the front. All other discs play fine (CD Audio, PC Games etc)

2nd problem is that I have Swat 4 which when i boot to play it just goes to a black screen & although i can move the mouse & see the mouse occasionally i again have to hit the power switch.

I have auto updates on and have no virus or spyware on the system

Any Clues?

Your Video card drivers need to be updated.

Go to www.ati.com and downloard the latest drivers.

The video problem with SWAT4 doesnt seem to have anything to do with the drives you put in.

I'm running SWAT4 on the same system but I updated the Catalyst drivers from ATI directly. This may help.
