Dell precision 470 Upgrading

I recently was given a Dell Precision 470 Workstation that I intend to convert into a media server. It came with the stock single core 2.8 Xeon processor and I bought a matching set of SLAG9 Xeon Woodcrest 3.0Ghz processors off of ebay. Since there was not previously a processor on the second port I dont have the original 2nd processor Heatsink/Shroud and instead of spending stupid amount of money for one online, can I just buy a Socket 771 heatsink and call it a day or will I get an error for not using the ugly dell contraption?
