dellnet/msn

just received my dimension 8100 and a lot of software came pre-installed, including the Dellnet/MSN browser.
i can't stand this candy browser so i went to download microsoft internet explorer. the install seems to be going fine but it never completes the installation. it just hangs. so i went to download netscape's browser (version 6). again, everything seems to be fine but then it hangs. i've installed quite a few other (non-web) related software such as ms office, adobe illustrator, photoshop, etc and have not had any problems.

i would like to know how to deactivate the MSN browser. everytime i try to launch the preinstalled MS IE, i get a pop-up dialogue that says i have to use Dellnet/MSN. does anyone else have this problem? this thing is so bad, even when i tried to launch the dell solution center, i get the same dialog box because the dell solution center requires launching a browser. this is driving me nuts!!!

please advise.

I've got the same problem and I specifically requested that Dellnet not be installed. I've tried to download and install IE 5.5 but it says that a previous installation did not complete. Over and over. I did get AT&T @home to install and mozilla, but I can't get just a plain IE. I uninstalled the Dellnet and it still is there. Anyone know how to get rid of the stupid thing?
