dimension 2400 problem
I just got a dimension 2400 and am getting a noise every 10 minutes- exactly 10 minutes. It sounds like a grinding or scratching noise, but it's not coming from the fan or hard drive. Working with tech support, I've disconnected every cable but the power, disconnected the fan, floppy drive, dvd drive and cd drive but the noise still occurs every 10 minutes. The computer seems to work fine- it's pretty annoying though. It sounds like it's coming from the front of the unit.
Any ideas? Thanks

It's the HD. You can disconnect the HD to confirm this.

Try using Dell diagnostics, to see if there's any failing hardware in your system. The instructions for using them, are in the D/2400 owner's manual.
