Dimension 3000 OS install problems

Ok, I got this dimension 3000 motherboard from a friend, didn't have anything on it just the board, so I bought a processor, ram, hard drive and put that all in a case I have. Then I had to buy the special cables that turn the computer on and off and that also came with the front panel USB and audio. Got everything together just the way it should be, fired it up, it turned on and I got to a point where I could install an OS by booting from the CD and when it starts to install the basic windows files (just after you put the NTFS partition on the drive) it goes to blue screen of death and when I try to install it again it does the same thing, over and over and over. All of the hardware is compatible with the computer (the processor and ram) If it helps the cables going to the power indicator light have come off of the led, seems like it shouldn't effect it just a simple but tedious soldering will fix that but haven't had the time. If anyone can help me with this problem I'm having I would greatly appreicate it. If you need any more specifications feel free to ask.

That doesn't leave much else:

motherboard
Windows disc
HD
CD drive

Possibly the RAM or some other component is bad. Can you test the memory and processor in another machine?

Yes I have tested the processor and ram and they both work properly.
