Dimension 3100, audio issues

i'm having same problem regarding sound with same model of computer, looked in device manager and 2 things yellow flagged. first one is audio device on high definition audio bus properties, in general section it says drivers not installed(code 28) click re-install drivers to re-install.in the driver section it says no files required or loaded for this device, and in the roll back driver section it says no files backed up.

The other thing flagged is multimedia video controller properties, in device status it says device not configured correctly(code 1) To re-install drivers click re-install drivers. In the driver details section it says no driver files required or loaded for this device. In the resources section it says device isn't using any resources because it has a problem.

should i click these re-install driver tabs or not? or is the problem more complicated than that?

When i looked in volume control it said that there are no active mixer devices available. It also said that in the volume section there is no audio device, in audio it said no recording device and in voice it said no playback device.

When i tried updating media player it said it couldn't install because it was the wrong codec the numbers didn't match and the media player had an error code C00D11BA.
