Dimension xps gen 4- processor upgrade question.
I am running the dimension xps gen 4. i have a 3.2 ghz p4 processor. ia m not sure what socket type it is , i was thinking a 775.
What is the biggest processor that this motherboard will handle, will it support a intel core2 duo? does anyone know.

The XPS G4 does not support any Core 2 Duo processors, only single core Socket LGA 775 P4 processors.

You can upgrade to any Socket LGA775, 5xx, 6x0 or 6x2 processor, with 90nm architecture, but not the 6x1 processors.
The 670 3.8Ghz is the largest.
