Well Ive had my 4700 for nearly a year now and had no problems with it till i had a unexpected crash and had to re-format my hard drive and install windows again now when ever I switch it on i get a
Diskette drive 0 failure message with the options of pressing F1 or F2 now if I push F1 it loads windows up, and i proceded to go through all the disks I was given to reinstall my programes. But now wen I try to install my broadband it tells me Ive no Ethernet cable ports even tho theres one pluged in to the back of my computer!!
Have I just missed a driver or doing something wrong? any help would be great.
thanks
Did you install the Chipset driver? Did you install the ethernet driver?
I think so but just to make sure where would I find them ? on the V.9X/56K DATA/Fax modem software disk (which ive installed the whole disk but it says it has drivers on it) or the Dell Dimension Resource Disk ?

All drivers are under the Product Support tab above, then Downloads. The modem software would NOT include the network driver.
Ok thanks guys Ive downloaded those drivers and i can find my ethernetpoets :) but im still getting the diskette drive 0 failure at start up. Any ideas on this ?

If you're looking for the chipset drivers, go here, these are what you're looking for.
