Direct parallel connection
Can anyone tell me how to do a Direct parallel connection between a Win XP Pro pc and a Win 98.
I have a Direct connect Cable installed between the PCs. I have the 98 as the Host and it is in the "listening mode" I configured the XP connection as the "guest" using the Wizard.
I get to a screen asking to enter a Login ID and Pword to get into the 98 PC but I never get in. I get error 619. I read the help file on Err: 619 but it doesn't "help".
Anyone know what is wrong?
Thanks
Rob

There is 1 thing at the end that makes me wonder if 98 to XP is possible.
See line with ************ Below
To make a direct network connection by using a DirectParallel cable
Open Network Connections.
Under Network Tasks, click Create a new connection, and then click Next.
Click Set up an advanced connection, and then click Next.
Click Connect directly to another computer, click Next, and then do one of the following:
If you want your computer to act as the host (your computer contains the information you need to access), click Host.
If you want your computer to act as the guest (your computer accesses information on another computer), click Guest, and then click Next.
In Device for this connection, click Direct Parallel (LPT1) and then click Next.
Follow the remaining instructions in the Network Connection Wizard.
Notes
To open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.
***************A direct network connection that uses a DirectParallel cable requires a stand-alone computer running Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure. If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure.
