Display Setup

My display setup indicates I am running on the VGA configuration at 16 colors.  When I enter Settings/Advanced/Monitor it won't give me the opportunity to change drivers.  I have downloaded the driver 1701fp for my monitor but can't seem to add it through the control panel or the device manager.  I recently updated to Windows 2000 Pro and now I can't configure the monitor.  I also tried updating the BIOS driver to A09 from my current A02 but it says it can't install it under protected conditions.  I am stumped.  How do I get my monitor to work correctly?

a) Are you shure you doing this as Administrator?
b) Never do BIOS updates from hard disk...

Sounds like you need to install the video drivers and not the monitor drivers or a Bios Flash..

In order to change the color quality and screen resolution (if this is what your referring to) in display properties then the video driver needs installed.
