displayport cable...
greetings,
last week i ordered the Dell Precision T3500 CMT,85 Percent Power Supply,C2 with the NVIDIA® Quadro® 600 graphics card.
later, this week i also ordered the ultrasharp U221HM 21.5-inch monitor with LED. this monitor uses the newer displayport cable however the monitor does NOT come with the cable in the box.
can anyone tell me if the displayport will be included with my computer as it is equipped with the NVIDIA® Quadro® 600 graphics card?
the cable is nearly $30 and i hope it is included.
i've never ordered from dell before and would like to ask this knowledge base.
thanks for any information.

Weird. Every monitor should have displayport cable available including other cables you might use with it. Check where you bought it and ask them for it.

Don't know where you're getting prices for a DisplayPort cable, but a quick look at Amazon shows them for around $10, depending on what DP connectors you need (eg, DisplayPort or MiniDisplayPort, etc) and the length.
Bottom line, shop around!

Its insane what retail stores or even amazon gets for "quality" digital cables (hdmi, dp, ect.)- they either work or not. You can buy them on ebay or smaller sites for 10% the going price and get the same results. I have a pile of brand new hdmi cables just for future use because of a 10 for $25 shipped ebay deal!
