Drivers

Question

I am using Windows ME.  I have an error message for Devldr16.  I have downloaded DEVCON32, but when I try to install it needs DriversCab6 (?) and asks for the location.  When I search Drivers I'm told I don't have access and to contact my system administrator.  I don't know what to do next.   Also, this might be another issue, but when I go to the Control Panel and click on Add/remove programs there are no programs displayed.  The page is blank.   Thanks for any suggestions.

You will have to give the system model so that I can suggest the drivers. also what drivers are you installing?

My computer is a Dell Dimension 8100 and I am trying to update my Soundblaster Live! to correct the Devldr16 error.  Thanks for replying.

Hello   You need administrative or power user rights, normally when you dont have these rights it will deny access from installing devices including drivers.  Ask the person that has administrator rights to change your permission.   Good luck!

After trying to install a game for the children I began getting this error message, "Devldr 16 has caused an error in DEVCON32.DLL. Devldr 16 will now close." I communicated with Dell support and was advised to dwonload an updated driver for SoundBlaster Live! I have been unable to install the updated driver My system tag is 24LGV01. I have a stand alone computer using a dial-up internet connection so who would be my administrator? It's a home computer.
