e310 internet connection problems!!

I have a e310 and im using comcast highspeed cable connection. I've been using it for about a year now with no problems, but recently I can't seem to maintain an internet connection for very long, Some times it may last a few hours sometimes 20 minutes, but after I reset the cpu, I regain my connection, the problem isn't the internet nor the modem, i've verified that they are ok, it seems to be some issue with the computer...does anybody know what could be causing this...my thought is that it may be low memory...does anyone know this to cause an issue with maintaining an internet connection?

please any advice would be very much appreciated

I doubt you are low on memory. However, it would help if you said how much memory you have and how much you are using when the problem occurs.

Have you checked your network connection between the PC and the router/modem?

Of course, it matters greatly whether you have a wired or a wireless connection.

It is pretty hard to help with the information you gave.

Just stating the obvious. Are you sure it isn't the modem? I had an RCA modem that was approaching 5 years old. All the proper lights were on and Cox (my provider) confirmed a good signal. However, it would periodically drop the connection (even with the right lights on) and I had to power it off and back on to regain a signal.  When you power off the PC are you also powering off the modem? This got more pronounced over time. It finally would not regain operation without being off for quite a while. 3 weeks ago I got a new modem (Motorola SB5120) and the problem was solved.

This might not be your problem, but checking the obvious a few times before digging inside your PC for a problem might save time and headaches.

well the only reason i say there isn't a problem with teh modem is because i've called my provider, and they did some sort of testing (without coming out to my home) and they verifid that everything is ok with my modem and connection, so what other info do you guys suggest I give you? I also do some file sharing from time to time and this seems to make the connection fail even faster.....so what other ifo do you guys suggest i give you? I'm not sure how much memory I have but its basicaly whatever came with the cpu 256mb or whatever...so its not very much
