I'm in the same situation. I've got a new processor coming to upgrade my 820 in order for XP Mode to work. How do we turn on virtualization in the BIOS?
Hey Dell! Have you got an answer for us? I'd hate to be duped just because there is no way to turn on virtualization, even though the hardware supports it...
I have an E510 with the 0HJ054 motherboard (the last of several that were used in this model), it does not have the VT option in the BIOS, either. As these are "discontinued" systems I don't expect to ever see any additional driver or BIOS updates. There are lots of hardware capabilities that are not enabled on many Dell systems. For example with the chipset in the E510/5150's, Intel says it is compatible with up to a D960 CPU but with the Dell custom OEM motherboard the max is a D945 (we have documented cases on the old Dell users forum of this). The motherboard in the E510/5150 is a custom motherboard made for Dell by Foxconn.
Keep in mind Dell (or HP or Gateway, etc) is in the business of selling NEW computers and the chances of upgrades for "legacy" systems is not very likely.
