Error 0F00:0244
System is not booting properly. When I ran diagnostics in safe mode I received two Error Codes. Both referenced Error Code 0F00:0244 then each listed message block 22150152 and Uncorrectable Data Error or Media is Write Protected. I did a restore to a previous restore point and I can run in safe mode or safe mode with networking. When I try to boot the full Windows Vista version the system hangs. Is this a video card problem? The diagnostics indicate it is working fine.

Error code: OFOO:O244, uncorrectable data error or media is write protected, indicates a hard drive failure/issue, you need to replace the hard drive.
If you have a Dell warranty in effect contact Dell's Technical Support for the replacement.

As Bev has rightly pointed out, Error Code 0F00:0244 indicates hard drive failure. Does the computer have an active warranty? You can check the warranty status here. In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to extend warranty entitled services. If the warranty on the computer has expired, you may contact our Expired Warranty Services (this is for US based customers).
