It sounds like you are trying to run this from within windows and this could be the problem. You need to boot the system with this CD to allow the reinstallation process to proceed properly. As some programs are in use at the time that you are trying to reinstall the software from within windows this could be what is causing the errors that you are experiencing. Check the Knowledge base for articles on how to properly perform a reinstallation of windows ME on your system.
