It would help to know what computer model and operating system you are using? Have you tried a System Restore to a point where you were not getting the errors?

It runs....but then it says that it cannot be restored to that point...I have tried all the points I have in there.

At this point, I would say to try a check disc and sweep of your hard drive. Eliminate the temporary and internet files. Then, defragment your hard drive. There is a slim chance that the error messages will go away but, if not the least time consumning and less headache would be to do a "PC Restore"(Cntrl + F11) this will return your system to an "out of box" status from the factory.(All updates and personal data will be lost, unless backed up prior to this procedure)

Do you mean there are no restore points for your system, or the System Restore process runs but, it is not successful?

How exactly do you do the check disc and sweep.  I know how to defragment and I have heard of the priors, but have never done that.  And I know how to eliminate all the temp files....I don't have a way to backup everything so that will be an absolute last resort!!

Click My Computer > "C" Drive(Local Disk drive) > Properties > Click Disk Cleanup tab > at finish, check tick boxes next to Temporary Internet files, Temporary files, Recycle Bin > click " OK" > after " Are you sure you want to perform these action?" click Yes.

Perform the Disk Defragmentation.

Well I did all that....except the error-checking part wouldn't work...And I still can't run any other programs.

If you defragged the hard drive, try a System Restore once more? If that doesn't work, then you'll probably need someone who is comfortable editing the registry. All I can suggest after this, is the PC Restore...

I did the defrag...and then tried another restore and it still won't let me go to anydate.  Even yesterday's point (I have it set up to set restore points once a week).  So...I have edited the registry before for other things....So if you can tell me the step by step i think I can do it....but if not, I might just have to find a backup hard drive for my stuff and pc restore it.  thanks for you help again!!!
