I personaly don't like Norton or McAfee myself. Neither one ever did work right for me and mine but I have been using ZoneAlarm and it's been trouble free so far, for the past week anyway! Knock on wood. I guess it's whatever works for your system configuation.
Thanks! everyone for your time and help it sounds like Zone alarm is the way to go. Is there alot of settings with zone alarm? We are using aol (not proud about that) but the check this if you are this, and uncheck this if you are gonna do that, sometimes gets alittle confusing. Is there a setting I should know about that needs to be right for using aol. That 's probably a real general question I know, but thanks for yiour time!
Nothing personal but I really had a bad time with AOHell! and I just never really got over it. So as far as ZoneAlarm AOHell compatability why don't you try it out and report back if it causes any problems! Somebody has to be the test subject! Might as well be you! LOL
(Just kidding)
Good luck.
I used Zone Alarm for over a year with no problems, then I found that it would not let my HP 932C print over my home network, unless I disabled it. Still used it for a while, until my whole family got compeletly confused in remembering to disable ZA. Suddenly the network, was back to sneakernet, as someone would have to go disable ZA on the host computer everytime they wanted to print. If they forgot, then there were computers crashing all over the place. Other than that, I think its a great product.
Thank You for your time Mister_Bill and others, I'll download Zone alarm and see what happens with aol. I need to just get off my butt and change Servers from "aohell". I know from reading other posts aol likes to take over your computer. It was easy to get it going at first but sometimes it causes trouble, and the privacy issue. I'll post back either way good or bad, Zone with aol Thanks again!
Bob, you can get all that imformation at Zonealarm.com. I'm just interested in the firewall protection, which some people have posted that it works fine with that dreaded aol. I can't help more than that, I really am more of beginer, I use this great forum for alot of answers for my questions instead being able to provide the answers George
