You can upgrade the power supply to any standard ATX unit.  Dual slot cards will fit in the case also. They don't fit some dell systems, but you should have no issue with the XPS 8700.  I would recommend an external exhaust card like this one HERE to get the heat out versus the dual fan models that blow the hot air inside the case. Don't worry about more case fans.  There's really no place to put them anyway.  I would think about your purchase though and decide whether you actually need a $700 video card or if something at less than half the cost would meet your needs like a GTX 760 HERE.  I have never found any need to buy expensive video cards especially to put into a Dell computer case since midrange cards play any game out there and outside of gaming there will be no difference at all.

Thank you for your input and the card advice is well taken. There is a treasure trove of possibilities on the cards and of course new ones come out every day.

This is the system as I bought it, did not think I did too bad for just below $900 I got an additional discount not shown. Ive always had good luck with the refurbs. This will be the tenth machine Ive purchased and only one optical drive failure out of the box, every one of them became obsolete before they had any problems. The dimension 9100 is still going strong with xp. Thats the one I am replacing.

The only sad thing is it used to be you would get any Microsoft packages that were ordered with the original system but either Dell or Microsoft wised up to that. I am sure it was Microsoft base on all the garbage they pull. They are really lucky that Google doesnt wan't to go head to head with them on an operating system. I know they have chrome and technically linux but neither can run pc games to the best of my knowledge. Of course Google has cleaned there clocks on phones and android in general.

Again thanks for taking the time to help me out.
