Graphics card question?
If any of you recocnize me, I returned my non-working 5600FX to Amanax only to discover they were backordered. They refunded my money, and I set off in search of another card.
Then I heard about this:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-140-041&depa=0
So my question, is the FX5700LE is really as good as the 5600FX (which is what I heard) and if so, why is it cheaper? Also, the FX5700LE does work with a Dimension 2400 right?
Thanks,
Nightmare JG

No it's not.
Anything with an LE or SE at the end of it, stay away from it. They are the crippled vers of the cards.

I think crippled is too strong a word. Benchmarks generally show only about a 17 to 20 fps difference between the 5700LE and the 5600. To your eye, a game won't look any different using 1024x768, medium settings.

Yeah ChrisM OK......ROFL. Lets use Scaled down instead. :smileyhappy:
But then it depends on the game in question, but we don't need to go into it that deep.
17 to 20 fps can be a big deal on some of the newer games Like UT 2004, Doom 3, and HL2 depending on the settings used.
