gx 150optiplex issues!!! help!!!

i recently upgraded my ram, and added an internal dvd burner, afterwards i went to turn it on and i keep getting, primary hard disk 0 not found, then it says hit f1 to reboot or f2 for setup. i hit f1 it beeps and it keeps saying that over and over. this is all iget and it wont let me get to windows. i am not real computer savy so please talk me in a way i would understand, cuz i wont know what to do otherwise. thanks for any help you can offer!!

Try removing the cmos battery(#4) for 15 minutes, replace with a new one , then try to boot

do i have to get this batt from dell or can i get it anywhere?

Just be sure the new drive is recognized in the bios..
 
Making numerous hardware changes at one time can cause these types of problems, always do them 1 at a time, and using the PC and rebooting several times between each hardware change..

oh i forgot to mention this, i put a new hardrive in as well an i am still getting that message. does this effect what you want me to do with this cmos batt?

You can get at Radio Shack or other battery retailers. The number is on the battery itself.
I recommend replacing it if it is older than 3 years. They are cheap and can cause problems in Dell's if they are failing, and a volt meter does not always show if it is going bad..

I replace the cmos battery
 
The f1 and f2 screen is still coming up
but it is not asking about primary drive 0 anymore
 
Its showing pre boot media test failure check cable
 
A09 bio version
nic set to ON
My ibe is set to auto
 
I still cant get to windows

Replace the IDE data cable on the hard drive to the motherboard.
No Events found!
