Help - Computer Will Not Start

My computer will not start, it is like it is not even plugged in.  When I was out of town last weekend my computer would not power up for anyone one in them family.  I came home, checked to cords, everything looked fine, and it started rignt up for me.  I figured someone had just pulled a cord loose.  The computer worked everyday this week, until last night.  Now it will not power up for me.  I have tried another power cord, I have reset my surge protector, and still nothing.  I am not a complete beginner when it comes to computers, but this is above my head.  Is this a power supply, or motherboard problem?  I would appreciate any help I can get.

Since you aren't a complete "newbie" to computers, I would suggest that you open the computer and insure that all power connections are securely attached and seated within their sockets. Remember to observe all safety procedures when working inside your computer.
