Help is and under statment

Im not sure whats going on. My computer is a dell 4550 ive had it for awhile now. A while back it really junked out and i jsut deiced to put on windows 2000, a step down from XP but easy to work with i hear, so i dont care really. The thing is when i installed it, everything is fine except i dont have a video driver at all. Everything is all pixeled and it hurts my eyes. Ive gone to dell support and none of those drivers work, i looked at the before u post faq but nothing is there for 4550's. I got it as a present from a really rich friend of my moms and he owns his own business, but no none knows what. Im starting to wonder if its like a business only computer thing or something. Im not to well with internal computer compnets, but acording to the dell website i have a AGP 4x video card. Before on XP everything was fine, no video problems. Ive really tired everyhting, all sorts of yahoo searches and downlaods of things i thought were the right dirvers but don do nada. I just want to be able to play video games and watch movies on my computer like i used to be able to. PLease help, i appreciate ur concern and everything

how come you didnt like winxp? anyways what video card do you currently have installed? its either probably a nvidia or ati. you can get their drivers from their websites. however if you have randomly been dling video drivers right and left this will also cause problems. find out what video card you have. dl and run drivercleaner (find using a google search) and just make sure all the drivers you've downloaded are gone. then reinstall the correct drivers.

right click anywhere on your desktop > properties, it should pull up the display properties. click on the settings tab, then it should list your monitor then video card. or check in your device manager under display adapters. right click on my computer > properties > hardware > device manager > display adapters. it should list something.

also did you reinstall your chipset drivers? did all other drivers reinstall for you?

you want the rage family ones. they wont be specifically for an individual card, but for the whole family of cards.
