In Internet Explorer go to Tools, click on Internet Options, click on Advanced. Then scroll down a ways and see if you have a listing for Java(Sun). Is it there and is the box by it checked off? You can download Sun Java at the website if you need to re-install it.

Before you download it look around the site and read a little to make sure it's what you want.
