Help Please XPS 730 Bios install problem
Hi everyone,
This is my first official post as an owner of the Xps 730 series, unfortunately it is because of a problem. I went to the dell.ca site to download and install the latest drivers released. I came across the BIOS update to 1.0.3 and was suprised to see an error message pop up after rebooting for the installation.
"Alert! M/B usb cable not connected"
First off, i bought this system because of my lack of technical knowledge and it is a great system. However, this is not what i expect from a system that costs a pretty penny :( . Would somebody explain what this error message relates to? Also, how is this problem resolved??

Hey doobie,
I know the feeling. I am new to the board and they have some really helpful guys who I know can trouble shoot your problem. I would suggest rebooting your machine and see if the problem goes away. If not try reflashing your bios again. Hope this helps.

It sounds like the old bios had something disabled. When you installed 1.0.3, it got enabled. Did you write down the old bios settings?

doobie83,
i've also had that message appear a few times when i bootup my system. it seemed to appear after i installed the latest video driver and esa software from nvidia... i think. it stopped showing up after a while and i've decided to let sleeping dogs lie. its probably going to hurt me in the end though...
