HELP WITH MEMORY!! CAN'T DO ANYTHING!!

Hello, I have a problem with the memory all of the sudden my pc freezed and then I got a message saying "your system is low on virtual memory windows is increasing....."
 
and after that I got this "you system is low on virtual memory.to ensure windows runs properly increase the size of your virtual  memory"
 
when I start up I got this "error loading c:\programs 1newdot~1\newdot.dll "
 
I tried to increase the virtual memory but it wont help at all.
 
I cant access to my files and cant connect to the internet I use pc card slot but now it seems like windows wont detect it, I tried to open the configuration tool for this and it says that the application is running.

memory is 256, computer was fine dont know what could've happened.

Im afraid I wont be able to install that program the computer wont let me do anything therefore I cant connect to the internet.Im actually using a different pc. any suggestions??

If the computer won't let you do anything, reinstall Windows XP (see this).

beu,

For starters, get rid of New.net with the procedure here. If that is on your computer there is a good chance that you have other spyware. Download Ad-aware from here and Spybot from here. Check online for updates to their databases then run them and delete all the spyware they identify.

How much RAM is installed in your system? (I assume you are running Windows XP.)

but if I install windows xp what's gonna happen with all the security updates?

They will have to be reinstalled. Your post indicated that you cannot boot to Windows. This leaves only two options, a reinstallation using the information in my earlier link (which will remove everything from your C:\ partition) or a repair reinstallation (procedure here) which will leave your data intact but remove all Windows Updates. Unfortunately, a repair reinstall will also leave any spyware present on your system in place, although it may allow you to run the spyware detection and removal programs.
