Help with printing
I have a Dell Dimension desktop with a Hewlett Packard DeskJet 970 Cxi printer. It works fine together when I first turn on the computer. After the computer has been on for a short time, I can no longer print - I have to turn the system off and reboot in order to print again. It is very annoying - can anyone help me.

I don't know if this will help you, but here is what I did when I had a similar problem, Uninstall your printer software and go to the HP site and download the latest software/drivers. Follow all directions. This seemed to fix my printer problems.

If you are using a parallel connection, makesure your cable to computer says IEEE1284 on it. An HP tech support told me that if it doesn`t say that, it isn`t the proper cable and it will work intermitently. The prior cable I had didn`t say this and it worked intermitently. When I got the proper cable it worked fine.

It seams like you have the wrong driver installed.
You will need to go to this address and get the driver.

There is an Issue with some of the HP print software and as far as I know Win 2K.
I have the problem with the OJ 1100 CSE and the all in one OJ 710,710 C
The problem is that it will tie up your processer and never let it go,slowing down your computer, one of the solution's is to close out of the software when it is not needed. There is others but this is the fast way(the lazy man's way)
To find out if yours is doining this all you do is pull up task manager, make sure there is nothing running and see if your CPU usage is not at 100%. if it is then most likely it will be Hp.
Hope this helps
