help
hi can anyone help me, i have a optiplex gx110 and i am trying to update the bios from a01 to a02, but i keep getting a password error, i have disabled the passwords in the bios but i still cant update, it tells me it cant update under a protected system, any help would be much appreciated

Hi Bobsy,
Your not trying to flash the BIOS from inside Windows are you?
You should boot the machine using a dos boot disk (preferably with the bios update on the dos disk) and then run it manually.
I had to flash a Windows 2000 system recently and I was getting the same error when I tried to flash from inside windows.
make a DOS boot disk
copy the (whatever flash).exe file to the disk
reboot from the floppy and run the flash update.
