Horizontal Scrolling lines
Hi, I sort of need help with this problem thats recently started happening, and looking for people who could help with suggestions on what to do.
Yesterday I started getting these faint horizontal lines that either scroll up or down the screen. I've narrowed it down to the cables, and seems to be the root of it, but even then I'm not sure. I can't test the video card in another computer as no other computer in the house can handle it.
I have a nvidia geforce 8800gt which is hooked in with an adapter because my monitor is old enough where it can't hook directly in to my card which I believe is a DVI-I. I believe its a VGA to DVI-I adapter to be specific.
I've tried unplugging it, taking each part off and making sure its tight. It works for awhile and then the lines start appearing again, and I can tell from touching the cable the lines get worse or better. So I think the cables are the culprit in this case.
So the only thing I could come up with is, that would getting a new monitor that can directly go into the card without an adapter fix this? or should I try to make another attempt at tightening things and hope for the best? Thats about all I can come up with.
If you need any other computer information let me know, didn't think that anything else was needed besides the card model. Oh, and its drivers are up to date, so no need to tell me to do that.

Zeiharu,
Try the monitor on another system and see if the H lines appear.
