How to increase Printer Timeout?
When I print something relatively long and complex (e.g., a Powerpoint presentation with graphics as 2-slides-per-page) to my Laserjet 2200D from my Dimension 8200, I occasionally get an error after it prints a single page or two.
ERROR: timeout
OFFENDING COMMAND: timeout
STACK:
First of all, I'm puzzled that I get a timeout error. I added tons of RAM to my printer and I thought that lack of printer RAM was one of the causes of an error like this. (My printer now has 72MB).
Second, I've looked high and low for the way to increase the printer timeout, but I cannot find it. I looked in the printer driver and elsewhere, but I'm stumped. I'm using the HP Postscript Printer Driver.
How do I increase the printer timeout? Or more generally, how do I prevent this error?

Oops...sorry about that. Sometimes we forget the simplest things...
I'm running Windows XP and connecting the printer via USB.
As far as Windows spooling goes, I think I'm using it. When I print, I can get a window listing the print jobs in the queue, with headings like Document Name, Status, Owner, Pages, Size, Submitted, and Port.
I hope that answers your questions.
Thank you for helping me with this.

Here is the link to the HP downloads page for Windows XP, for this printer. It has several applications and one of them is a patch for "Windows XP communications patch". That may be what you need to fix the problem(???)

Thanks for the tip. I somehow missed that file.
I've been trying to download it, but there seems to be a server problem. I'll let you know if that fixes it.
Thanks again.
