Hyperthreading?
Confused about hyperthreading...
For processors that support hyperthreading, don't they need applications that take advantage of this feature?
If so, are there any applications available now that would take advantage of this?

Hyper threading technology makes a single processor act like two physical processors, thus increasing performance by cutting processing time. Overall, hyperthreading does improve system performance, but for some programs, slows it down. Windows XP SP1 is optimized for hyperthreading, meaning many apps will run faster.
