yudel,

You may want to try replacing your battery and see if that dont take care of the problem.

Hi Tim,
I noticed you told Yudel that it might
be the battery....My question is where
do you put a battery? I do not have
the problem, but I have noticed others
have mentioned batteries for computers.
I have Dimension 4100. Where would
the battery go?....Just in case someday
I have the problem...
Thanks!

cmos batteries should last a long time. mine still kicks. owing to the fact you have a 4100 i am surprised your battery has run out. have you been unplugging the machine and leaving it that way? try recharging it by plugging the cord back in if thats the case.

Hi EdnaM,

Go here to take a look at your system and where the battery goes. http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/systems/dzuul/rr.htm

Hi,
I am not the one that has the problem.
Yudel had the problem. I just wanted
to know where the battery was located
just in case someday I would have to
replace a battery. Thanks for answering
the issue.

Edna, unless you leave the box unplugged, by the time you replace the battery it will be time to throw the whole thing away. CMOS batteries last longer than you think if charged up all the time by leaving the box plugged in.
