I need help with updates
Can someone please explain in detail and post links to how and where i can update these things? I have been to Intel and im lost. I used a DriverScanner and this is what it says.
1. Intel(R) 82801FR SATA AHCI Controller - current version:4.0.0.62.11 update to:7.0.1.1001
2. Intel(R) 82801FB/FBM SMBus Controller - 266A - current version:6.0.0.1013 update to:6.4.0.1

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:
It's a Dell system, so your first port of call for drivers updates/downloads, should've been the Dell website :emotion-55:
Go to the Support ---> 'Drivers & Downloads' section for the Dimension 8400, to get all the drivers required for your system.
Make sure you install them in the correct order though.
But did you not receive a 'Drivers & Utilities' disc etc with the system?
If you didn't get discs, you can request 'backup' discs here :emotion-5:
