Input Not Supported Error

Hello - getting this error when starting my system. It's a white box and says "Input Not Supported" and basically leaves no options from there. It happens after the Windows 98 window is up for a bit and the system is going through its usual start-up. Then stalls out with that error and no way to continue. What might this be? Thanks.

well it is probably something in the startup. Go to start/run/msconfig and clear out the startup tab....depending on what O/S you are using you can disable them all except...

Win98 scanregistry, systemtray, 2 load power profiles
WinME scanregistry, systemtray, PCHealth, 2 load power profiles
XP you can use the disable all button.

Do this in safe mode and reboot in normal mode and see if you get the same error. If not you can then start adding them back in one by one to find the one causing the issue and keep it disabled. Or if you prefer you can keep them unchecked. It doesn't remove the violating program from the system, just disables it from loading at startup

Thanks much for your assistance. Only problem I now have is it comes up with this error during the boot following the Win 98 screen coming on for a bit and then just stops there. Never gets me to the Start menu and when the error is onscreen doesn't allow anything such as a cancel and continue. Just stops short of loading the Windows workspace. Any ideas of how to proceed past that point?

Boot into Safe Mode, then run msconfig and disable the startup items as suggested previously. To boot into Safe Mode, start tapping the F8 key right after the BIOS goes through its memory check.
