Install Question

Hello,

I am new to this forum. The other day I was speaking to a Dell Rep regarding computer problems I was having. My computer would freeze whenever I typed and it moved really slow. I had tried defragmenting previously but that did not solve the problem. The tech guy said I needed to reinstall the systems. I backed up all of my files. After that he had me delete partitions. I then installed whatever was on the XP cd that came with the system. After that I was told I had to install the operating system, but I did not have a cd for that so I came online and downloaded the following: R121089.exe, r58201.exe, and r78727.exe. I installed those drivers last night. Now my monitor only shows a blank screen, the only icon is the recycle bin. What else do I need to do. I have other cd's that came with the computer but I don't know if I should install all of those or what. Please help!!!
