HOWEVER, I also started getting this on my XPS Windows Vista machine about 7:30pm (pacfic) on 3 September. When I peeked at the message, appeared to be a 'Welcome to " IE8 ... which is odd since I've had IE8 for ages and do not recall it being updated. We both had this start happening about the same time it seems, so that I find odd. I am a bit worried that disabling the service may be just burying the problem, so I am going to copy and paste to make a new post in that other forum ( wish ther was a move or redirect feature ).
I have this same issue. new this AM. Looked suspicious, started looking and appears we are not alone. Plan to disable the warning but would like to know what caused it still....
Same exact issue. Same message trying to get through about installing IE8. Running Nod32 now, so far 67% done and no viruses detected. Will run Malware bites and adaware next. Pleae keep us posted on what you come up with. Thanks!!!
When I click the "show me" tab, it goes to a new screen, and it show it's thanking me for installing the Google toolbar, and do I want to make Google my homepage. It says it can't connect to "dslbdownloads.ddsupdatel.com" and offers a link to try again. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?
I also got the message on Sept 4th.I asked for it to show me the message and my screen went black and then 2 boxes appeared, one partially behind the other, I thought it might be loading something so I disconnected my laptop and pulled the battery to shut down.I restarted and haven’t seen the message.Ran my virus scan (McAfee Security) and it didn’t find anything. I also have Vista.

The best section to post this in, would be the Software & Operating > Microsoft OS forum HERE, this board is for Desktop Hardware.

Hey slb3, over in those other forums I found an article 'interactive services popup' from 2009 that basically says to disable the windows service. ( http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/software-os/f/3524/p/19267083/19459486.aspx#19459486 )

I'm also seeing this pop-up, and it comes back every few minutes if I close it.
Just started today.
